LawGood

The people behind the paperwork

One lawyer.
One tech person.
Several wild theories.

We’re Sara and Simon. Sara brings the legal brain. Simon brings the technical brain. Together, we’re making LawGood.

Those bits are true. The origin stories below are entirely made up. Please do not use them in a due diligence questionnaire.

01 / THE LAWYER

Sara

Chief Officer of “Hang on a second.”

Sara’s legal career allegedly began when she redlined the Tooth Fairy’s terms of service. Payment timing was vague. The dispute resolution clause was a pillow. She found this unacceptable.

After a brief stint as general counsel to a small parliament of ducks, she became the first person to negotiate a limitation of liability with a self-checkout machine. The machine agreed to stop saying “unexpected item”. The settlement remains confidential.

She can sense an undefined term from three rooms away, has cross-examined a printer, and once persuaded a 47-page agreement to become six pages through sustained eye contact.

“I’m happy with this. Subject to seventeen very small things.”

02 / THE TECH PERSON

Simon

Chief Officer of “I could probably automate that.”

Simon was reportedly raised by a drawer of miscellaneous cables. His first words were “Have you tried restarting it?” His second words were a surprisingly detailed explanation of why the restart had worked.

He built his first server out of a biscuit tin, three paperclips and unreasonable confidence. It achieved 99.9% uptime until someone wanted a biscuit. He now considers snack isolation a core architectural principle.

He once spent an entire weekend automating a task that took four seconds. It now takes three seconds, requires a configuration file, and has its own changelog. He regards this as a considerable success.

“It’s a tiny change. I just need to rebuild one small part of reality.”

03 / THE HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE ORIGIN STORY

A contract walked into a kitchen.

According to entirely invented office folklore, Sara was wrestling with a contract, a business email, and a file called FINAL_final_ACTUAL_final_v7.docx. Simon asked, “Couldn’t these all live in one place?” The printer made a noise that sounded suspiciously like a threat.

One whiteboard, several cups of tea and an unnecessarily heated debate about button spacing later, LawGood had an origin story. The sensible part: a calmer place to understand contracts, keep track of decisions, and move the draft forward. The less sensible part: the ducks have requested board seats.
